ALWAR : The Gateway City of Rajasthan

BALA QUILA

Alwar, one of the most ancient cities of Rajasthan, presents a fascinating blend of history, mythology, natural beauty, and royal heritage. Though its origins can be traced back to around 1500 BCE, making it one of the oldest established regions of North India, Alwar paradoxically emerged as the youngest among the Rajput kingdoms.

BALA QUILA

Historically known as Matsya Desh, Alwar is believed to be the land where the legendary Pandavas—the heroes of the Mahabharata—spent the final year of their exile incognito. The ancient kingdom of Viratnagar, flourishing in this region, is repeatedly mentioned in Indian epics and folklore.

Today, Alwar rests cradled in the lush Aravalli hills, surrounded by dense forests, breathtaking lakes, magnificent medieval forts, and regal palaces. The region is home to a diverse range of wildlife including the Bengal Tiger, golden jackal, sambar deer, and exquisite birds such as white-throated kingfishers, peafowls, and grey partridges. Adventure seekers, nature lovers, spiritual travelers, and history enthusiasts — Alwar offers a unique experience to all.

From Sariska Tiger Reserve to the mysterious town of Bhangarh, from serene lakes to ancient temples — Alwar stands as a treasure trove waiting to be discovered.
